As founder of both the Bayonet Point Location and the Spring Hill Location, Dr. Kales leads a talented staff of doctors, certified podiatry assistants, and support staff. Dr. Kales completed his undergraduate studies at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, graduating in 1972 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. He then took his talents to the Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine, graduating with a Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine in 1977. He completed his residency in podiatric medicine and surgery at Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, New York.
Dr. Kales’s devotion to his practice has not gone unnoticed by other professionals in his field. He has been named a Diplomat of both the American Board of Ambulatory Foot Surgery and the International College of Podiatric Laser Surgery, and a Fellow of the American Association of Hospital Podiatrists. Additionally, Dr. Kales is Board Certified in Ambulatory Foot Surgery.
Though he devotes most of his time to the practice, Dr. Kales remains academically successful. He continually improves his medical skills and always researches the latest technology for the advancement of Podiatry. Dr. Kales is proud to say that he has been continually practicing podiatry in Florida since 1979. Dr. Kales is on staff at Regional Medical Center at Bayonet Point, Morton Plant North Bay Hospital, and Bayonet Point Endoscopy and Surgical Center.
Dr. Patrick M. Qualtire is a graduate of the California School of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, where he was granted the Degree of Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM). He completed his medicine, anesthesia and surgical rotations at the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF) and Stanford University School of Medicine. He received the Pierce Billings Nelson Award at graduation as the one medical student who “most closely exemplifies honesty and dedication to Podiatric Medicine”.
Dr. Qualtire then completed his medical and surgical residency in the Orthopaedic Surgery Department of The University of Florida Health System – Shands Medical Center in Jacksonville, the only Level-1 Trauma Center in Northeast Florida. At Shands, he received Residency Certification in both Podiatric Medicine and Surgery, and Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery. He was awarded the “Most Outstanding Resident” and “The Outstanding Teaching Resident” honors at graduation.

Dr. Qualtire is on staff at Regional Medical Center at Bayonet Point, Bayfront Medical Center (formerly Spring Hill Hospital), and the Endoscopy & Surgery Center at Bayonet Point.
Dr. Qualtire is a native of Mingo Junction, Ohio where he attended both the University of Cincinnati and The Ohio State University. He is married to Cynthia Qualtire and they reside in Lutz, Florida. Patrick is affectionately known as “Dr. Q” to his colleagues and patients.
Angel was raised in Louisiana, moved to Georgia in 1990 and finally to Florida in 1994. She graduated Medical Assisting in 1997. She previously worked in primary care and internal medicine before working with Dr. Kales in 2003. She is X-ray and Podiatric Medicine Certified. She has a wonderful family which includes two children. She lives in the area and enjoys sports, outdoors and her family.
Debi is originally from Massachusetts where she obtained a certification in Pharmacology. She then moved to Florida in 1998, where she finished her Nursing Degree and went on to specialize in Podiatry. Debi has been with Dr. Kales since 2001 as a certified podiatric medical assistant with X-ray certification. She resides in the area with her husband and four children. They are very active in the community, local schools and sports.
Maryann was born in Maryland. She moved to Florida in 1969 as a child with her family. She has been with Dr. Kales for over 12 years! She has one daughter. She enjoys playing with her dog, Manny, and spending time with her mother doing yard work.
Stephanie has worked for Dr. Kales for over 10 years! This was her first experience with a computer and feels she has learned so much over the years, but still considers herself user-unfriendly. She has worked for doctors over the years but not as a specialist. She says that the patients feel like they are walking on air when they leave. Stephanie is our check out specialist…and she doesn’t do feet!
Laura moved to Florida from Brooklyn, NY six years ago. She graduated from Webster College with a degree in Medical Billing. She has also received an Associate’s Degree in communications from Kingsborough Community College in 2003. She has been with Dr. Kales since 2008.
Phyllis moved to Florida from NY seven years ago to be closer to her family. She attended Webster College in Holiday, FL, where she received her degree in Medical Billing and Coding. She has been with Dr. Kales for five years. Phyllis is currently in charge of Physician Relations/Referrals.
Barbara has worked with Dr. Kales for over seven years. She is currently responsible for all dictation. She is also able to handle check in and dictation. She lives in the area with her family.
Denise moved to Florida from New York in 1985. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education in 2007. She has worked for Dr. Kales since 05/2010, but had worked for him previously as well. She is the current office manager, and does billing and marketing. She enjoys spending time with her daughters and granddaughter.
Anita is back at the practice after leaving in 2008! She had previously worked for Dr. Kales for 10 years. She is the check-in person and responsible for scheduling. She is very involved with PAL cheerleading. She is our only native Floridian! She lives in the area with her family.
Juliana has worked with Dr. Kales since the summer of 2011. She was born and raised in Florida! She graduated from Central Florida Institute as a Medical Assistant and Cardiovascular Technician. She enjoys spending time with her family and enjoying every minute of her one year old daughter watching her grow.
